Ceiling tile

Description

Existing suspended acoustic ceiling tile system installed within a metal T-bar grid. The ceiling comprises lay-in mineral fibre tiles supported by a lightweight steel grid system.

Safe Disassembly Instructions

  • Lift ceiling tiles carefully from the suspended grid system starting from one corner.
  • Wear gloves and dust mask to minimise exposure to mineral fibre dust.
  • Stack tiles flat on pallets to minimise breakage and edge damage.
  • Avoid excessive flexing to prevent cracking and dust generation.
  • Separate mineral fibre tiles from steel grid components during removal.
  • Remove damaged or contaminated tiles and manage through the appropriate end-of-life pathway.

End-of-Life Destination & Instructions

Ceiling Tile - recycled through EnviroTile – National Ceiling Tile Recycling Program (if non-contaminated)

  • collection of 2 sample tiles by EnviroTile
  • stored on site or at Better Build for a maximum period of two weeks
  • coordination with EnviroTile to commence if ceiling tiles are non-contaminated


Metal - recycled through Scott’s Metals

  • segregate metals for Better Build to take to Scott’s Metals - 14 Wellington Road Woolloongabba Qld 4102
