Preparation

• Confirm floor area is isolated and free from public access.
• Identify installation method (typically pressure-sensitive/tackifier adhesive).
• Confirm participation in Interface ReEntry® program if applicable.
• Wear appropriate PPE including safety footwear and gloves.
• Use dust masks where dust or adhesive residue may be present.
   

Removal Procedure

• Begin removal from a corner or exposed edge.
• Lift individual carpet tiles manually; use a tile lifter or floor scraper where required.
• Avoid excessive bending or creasing to prevent tile damage if reuse or manufacturer take-back is intended
• Remove tiles carefully to preserve backing integrity (GlasBac® backing should remain intact).
• Separate visibly damaged, contaminated, or wet tiles from reusable tiles.
   

Adhesive & Subfloor Management

• Remove residual adhesive using appropriate hand tools or floor scrapers.
• Avoid aggressive grinding unless required, as this may generate dust.
• Ensure adequate ventilation during adhesive removal. 

Handling & Storage

• Stack tiles flat on pallets; do not fold or roll.
• Protect from moisture and contamination prior to transport.
• Store in a dry, covered location.
• Package and label in accordance with Interface ReEntry® program requirements where applicable.
   

* Use correct manual handling techniques to prevent strain injuries. 

* Avoid generating airborne dust during removal.

* Inspect for moisture damage or mould contamination prior to handling.

* Confirm no concealed floor services or access panels are located beneath tiles before lifting.

* Follow site-specific WHS procedures at all times.
