The Brick Pit Paving Bricks

Description

The Brick Pit recycled paving bricks are clay bricks salvaged from demolition sites and prepared for reuse in landscaping and hardscape applications, including driveways, garden paths, patios, and other outdoor areas.

Materials

Clay brick (100% Australian Recycled Content)

Safe Disassembly Instructions

Preparation

  • Confirm paving area is isolated and free from public access. 
  • Identify installation method (sand-set or mortar-set). 
  • Inspect surrounding area for embedded services prior to removal. 
  • Wear appropriate PPE including safety boots, gloves, and eye protection.


Removal Procedure

  • For sand-set installations, removal can typically be carried out by:
    • Removing jointing sand between bricks
    • Starting from an exposed edge or carefully lifting a single brick using a flat tool
    • Lifting adjacent bricks individually to avoid edge damage
    • Stacking bricks on pallets to prevent chipping during storage or transport


  • For mortar-set installations:
    • Mortar joints may need to be carefully cut or chiselled
    • Care should be taken to avoid cracking the brick during removal
    • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) should be worn where mechanical cutting or chiselling is involved, as dust may be generated.

* Use dust masks or respiratory protection where cutting activities produce airborne particles.
* Follow safe manual handling practices when lifting and stacking bricks.
